Inner Beauty

Inner Beauty is something that I've always struggled with. Throughout my childhood, teenage years and even as an adult, self confidence has always been a barrier in my life. Life takes us through many seasons that tends to affect us internally and reveal our true insecurities. Growing up, I dealt with extreme acne, I had bucked, gapped teeth and a big forehead. All of those things caused me to be extremely insecure and lack confidence. It made me feel low and I could not see my true beauty, inner beauty. Throughout my teenage years, I still experienced low self-esteem, especially when trying to date or get guys to like me. I recall overhearing guys saying "I would never date a girl with a gap." Hearing that just put me deeper in an insecurity hole. It wasn't until I started getting curves in high school and my mom allowed me to cut my hair short like Rhianna to cover my forehead did I gain some self-confidence. Many guys became attracted to me despite my gap. I was even a lil playa at that time. LOL. Once I started dating this one guy, and he told me he loved my gap, my self esteem truly boosted. Being an adult, I have come to realize that inner beauty is more important than outer beauty. You will always feel as if someone else may "look" better than you physically. What sets you apart and truly make you beautiful is your inner beauty. Being able to recognize that everyone has their own insecurities despite how beautiful, and put together they may look, we all deal with it. The beautiful thing about that is you are the only person that has the power to make the change to boost your own confidence. If you're lacking self-confidence because of your weight gain or weight loss, get in the gym and make the change! If you're unhappy with your smile, head to an orthodontist and get braces or Invisalign and make the change. (*Sidenote, I work at an Orthodontist office, Smile Doctors Braces in Pearland, DM me for a FREE consult LOL.) Bottom line is, you have the POWER to make the change. Boost your own confidence and eliminate those insecurities. In order to be truly happy with another human being, you have to be happy with yourself. It took me a long time to learn that. From time to time, I find myself lacking confidence and I have to remind myself who's I am (God's) and how amazing I am. One thing that definitely helps with inner beauty is self care. Self care days are ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY! Take some time for yourself and make sure you focus on yourself. Take yourself on a solo date, go get a massage, get a mani and pedi, workout, go to therapy, and most of all HEAL. These things will all help boost your confidence and strengthen your inner beauty!
